PeerLink is a national peer mediation and youth
conflict resolution project from Leap Confronting Conflict which is
steered and delivered by young people. PeerLink has developed from the
Young Mediators' Network as a response to needs recognised by young
people during a period of extensive research. The work is made possible
with money awarded by the Big Lottery Fund:
Peer support is essential for teenagers, particularly at times when
they find themselves in a difficult environment. Leap Confronting
Conflict has been awarded over 1.3 million to expand its national
network for young mediators and peer workers and to introduce more young
people to the skills and techniques of conflict resolution. The project
aims to support vulnerable young people and ensure that youth mediation
is recognised on a national scale.
Big Lottery Fund press release,December 2005

PeerLink
is the only national resource for young people involved in conflict
resolution work around the UK. It acts as a forum where young people can
get support, learn new skills and share their experiences and ideas.
PeerLink will raise the profile of youth led mediation and conflict
resolution by giving young people a platform and a voice.
