Setting up a Peer
Mediation Scheme
This is a one day introduction to the key principles and
issues for those new to setting up and running peer training
programmes with young people.
aims
- to introduce you to key principles for designing and setting up
peer-led programmes with young people.
course includes
- What's involved in setting up peer led programmes:
covering, for instance, length of programme, number of
sessions, placements, support and resources, and working with
other agencies.
- Identifying target groups.
- Exploring possible obstacles and challenges and how to
overcome them.

Training for Trainers
This course is for trainers, group workers and facilitators
who already have some experience in delivering confronting
conflict or related work with young people and adults. It shares
and explores some of the frameworks and themes that underpin
Leap Confronting Conflict's work with young people and
adults.
aims
- to develop a strong foundation for delivering training in
confronting conflict work.
course includes
- Identifying your core principles for delivering confronting
conflict work and their relationship to how you work in the
room with participants
- Identifying realistic and relevant learning outcomes, and
designing a programme appropriate to the needs of your
client group
- examining the use of questioning in order to promote
inquiry and self reflection
- exploring safety, responsibility, choice and permission as
they apply to your work as a facilitator
- Identifying your support needs in relation to your
continuing professional development
